Code of Conduct Essay Example for Free
figure of Conduct EssayAs a consultant for the merger between UWEAR and PALEDENIM, I have gathered much information pertaining the creating and carrying into action of a code of deliver. There are many different ways this code of conduct laughingstock be implemented and delivered. While viewing that each(prenominal) company go forth have different preferences as to how to implement the code, I testament submit an outline of what I believe is the best and most economic way to deliver the code of conduct for both companies equally. A code of conduct will create a framework or visual of how employees and clients will view the company as a whole. The existence of the codes seem to frame how the companies and their activities are understood. (Frostenson, Helin, Sandstrm, 2012, p. 269) The code of conduct for UWEAR and PALEDENIM will include four main comp whizznts Our Code and Responsibility, Violations and Consequences, Law Compliances and Regulatory Orders, and Policies a nd Procedures. Our Code and ResponsibilitiesThis would be the first incision of the code of conduct. It should include the overview of the code, the responsibilities the code provides to the company, and those persons who must abide by the code. The responsibilities of the code are to pay heed as a guide to help employees, officers, and climb on members in making informed and ethical decisions. All persons including third parties, business partners, and contractors must know and understand the code and act in a way that is consistent with the code. Violations and ConsequencesViolations and consequences will be listed in this section, but will not be limited to the pen communications here. Employees will be encouraged to know and understand each violation listed and its consequences. They will also be expected to report any observed accounts of unethical behavior. Consequences would include but wouldnt be limited to separation of employment. Law Compliances and Regulatory Orders The information listed here would be mostly useful to counselling and executive level officers. However, employees must maintain knowledge and rationality of this section in order to remain compliant at the door level. All national regulations will be stated in this portion of the code of conduct. For example, the policy created to implement the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) to monitor ingrained auditing policies would be stated in this section. Here is where the human resources department will verify the companys compliances with federal regulatory acts such as the Sarbanes- Oxley Act. Policies and ProceduresThe policies and procedures section will include all policies that employees, managers, and board members must follow. There will be sections to separate the policies that apply to each individual level. Although board members and managers are stratified higher than door level employees, they must still abide by the policies and procedures of the lower l evel employees. For example, the No Gift policy as stated in previous works, will be listed under a section for door level employees but must still be followed by all employees of the company. This will guarantee a fair level of work and maintain employee moral as far as morality and behaviors are concerned. Consistency across the board for all employees and work levels, is the goal in stating the policies and procedures. Non-compliance to policies and procedures will be stated in the violations and consequences section. After the code of conduct is fully compiled and voted on by the ethics board, it must be delivered. Although having a creative way to present the code of conduct to the company, it is more measurable to understand the client and their expectations. Preparation as a speaker would be my main focus in delivering the code. As much as technology has advanced and improved the quality of audiovisuals aids in presentations, it is important to review the basics of being a b etter speaker. (Lucente-Cole, 2004, p. 42) Preparing myself to deliver the code of conduct in a way that generates feedback from the audience, will allow me to verify understanding and knowledge of the code. The code would be delivered in a new employee handbook and reviewed in all new hire orientations. Each new hire would be required to sign for receipt and understanding of the communications in the code of conduct. As for existing employees, they will review and sign for receipt during the next every quarter meeting. There are other additional policies that havent been listed or discussed but should definitely be included. One of the most common policies that hasnt been conventional is attendance. The attendance policy would be carried out or listed in different stages. For example, if an employee is tardy, there would be a verbal counseling to address stage one of the tardy policy in attendance. If that employee is tardy again, they will be disciplined according to stage two of t he attendance policy. Disciplinary actions can be trim or removed from an employees record after that employee exemplifies compliance with the policy for six months.Last but certainly not least, UWEAR and PALEDENIM should have a policy addressing informal harassment. Sexual harassment occurs very often in the workplace. UWEAR and PALEDENIM must state explicitly, the expectations and consequences of sexual harassment. Harassment does not have to be of a sexual nature, however, and can include offensive remarks about a persons sex. For example, it is illegal to harass a woman by making offensive comments about women in general. (Sexual Harassment, n.d., para. 2) They, UWEAR and PALEDENIM, must make sure each employee understands what could be considered as sexual harassment in order to maintain compliance to this policy. Due to the fact that study lawsuits can be created from an occurrence of sexual harassment, this policy will be listed under Law Regulations and it must be strongl y enforced.ReferencesFrostenson, M., Helin, S., Sandstrm, J. User Interface: Complexity, Types and Performance
User Interface Complexity, Types and surgical operationUser larboard complexityA user interface is the means in which a person controls a softwargon application. A user interface should provide the user with an easy experience, al dispiriteding them to interact with the softw be in a stress-free and natural way. The in writing(p) user interface (graphical user interface) is a program that contains graphical controls which the user can select with a keyboard or mouse. The GUI complexity is the near important value to lot when selecting a technology for user interface classes. (Rayhan, 2003). To decide on the complexity of the user interface it is important to consider all possible user interfaces for the ePS dust. We should in like manner reflect on a variety of categories which include simple information input, static view of the data, customisable views, high- place view of the data and interactive graphs. The simple data input allows the user to enter data into the body. The static view of data can be either a table, tree or graph that is non affected by the changes in the dodge data. The customisable view allows the user to customise the appearance of static data without making a new request to the server. The self-propelling view of data is automatically refreshed to stay current while the underlying organization data changes. The interactive graphs ar similar to dynamic views. The graphical view is automatically updated as the underlying system data changes (Rayhan, 2003).Below is a list of user interfaces for the ePS systemLogin user interface The login user interface allows the user to enter their username and password to gain access to the system.Create E-Prescription user interface The Create E-Prescription user interface allows the general practiti championr user to hold an E-Prescription for a patient, view their personal details and view their medical history.Dispense medicine user interface The dispense medicine user interface allows the pill roller user to view the patients E-Prescription, check if the medication is in stock and dispense the medicine.Manage ADR report user interface The manage ADR report user interface will load a ADR report form on a web page for the user to enter in their adverse drug chemical reaction to a br from each oneicular medicine.Deployment constraints for user interfacesThe deployment constraints are as imperative as the complexity of the user interface. When considering deployment constraints it is essential to retain categories in which to compare. The side by side(p) deployment constraints can find within our ePS systemAny web browser on the internet This deployment constraint must(prenominal) allow the user interface to perform on round(prenominal) web browser on whatsoever computer. The web browser Opera does non support Java which means that all images and much less dynamic HTML, so the user interface would be presented in text form only.Late-Model web browser on th e internet If each web browser is no more than a few generations old then we will in any scale k instanter that the computer is also no more than a few generations old. subject and types of usersThe number and type of users influence the technology selection in two ways. One influence being that a large number of users can absorb the technology for the entity, control and lifecycle classes to balance well. A large number of users can also encourage the selection of user interface technology. A larger reference reconciles straightforwardness of deployment and maintenance costs major omenors.Small number of dedicated users These are a small convocation of users who can help to outline the system and who profits from the system. Since these groups are willing to invest their own sentence to learn the system, functionality is the main priority.General use within an organisation In regards to the system, this group of users are generally much larger, but they can be less motivat ed. These types of systems tend to support the organisation rather than contributing to the business. For example time tracking and benefits attention. tumescent audience with high interest The ePS system must have a large audience that are extremely knotty. These users may be unconnected from one another. The users may log on to the system to exchange information e.g. the E-Prescriptions or to collaborate information about the patients and the medicine.Huge audience with low interest In terms of the ePS system, it must attract and serve indecisive audience. If the ePS system runs slowly and wastes the audiences time it will cause the audience to be disengaged.Available bandwidthThe bandwidth available is also another crucial factor when selecting technologies. Certain groups of technologies can allow developers to meet low bandwidth restrictions. However, other technologies make bandwidth constraints worse. The categories for bandwidth restrictions are as followsDial-Up tie The d ial-up connection is now the least common type of connection to the internet. However, Dial-Up connection is suitable for systems that let users view text, images and to enter data. This would be suitable for the ePS system when the user logs in and tons the ADR report form. The ADR report will load up on a web page.Fast internet connection Fast internet connections consist of digital transmissions everyplace phone lines, cables and satellite transmissions. This is mainly to enable a quicker internet connection.Dedicated net work on between client and server This type of connection will allow the client and serves to exchange data at considerably high speeds.Types of System interfaceThe technology for a system interface is compulsive by a current outer system. If an external system is not available, you must describe the system interface and then select an applicable snobbish technology. System interfaces are divided into the following three categoriesData transfer Many system i nterfaces exist merely to transfer large lumps of information from system to system. These interfaces are referred to as electronic data interchange.Services through a protocol This system interface will allow a system to make requests through an agreed protocol. The server will allow a system to validate itself and request data by sending predefined codes.Direct access to system services This system interface will allow a client system to directly call selected methods in the server. The server exposes these certain methods for remote access.Performance and ScalabilityThe performance and scalability requirements are becoming one of the most important features in the selection of technology. Performance must be balanced against data integrity and any multiuser system and in that respect arent many single user systems left. The performance and scalability factors are usually found by inspecting the class diagrams and sequence diagrams from the analysis model. The following are the t hree main categories that may affect the performance and scalabilityRead-only Certain systems only allow the user to view system data, but do not allow them to update it.Isolated updates In most systems the user is allowed to change the systems data and the changes do no conflict with one and other.Concurrent updates In some systems many users change the systems data, but with some changes affecting the same data. The following sections below describe the performance and scalability factors for each use side in the ePS systemCreate E-Prescription use case In the Create E-Prescription use case the system retrieves and displays the patients record. After the user enters the diagnosis and the system must update the current data with the new data. This use case is described as Isolated updates or Concurrent updates.Dispense medicine use case In the dispense medicine use case the system retrieves and displays the patients E-Prescription. After the user checks the stock levels and dispens es the medicine the system must update the status to stop. This use case is either described as Isolated updates or Concurrent updates.Record ADR use case In the record ADR use case the system retrieves and displays the ADR entity objects. After the user updates the entities the system must update the data with the new data. This use case is either described as Isolated updates or Concurrent updates.Login use case In the login use case the system locates the user entity object that corresponds to the actual user. Once the object is located, the system must suss out whether the username and password is valid. The means the systems needs to read the username and password from some sort of persistent store. No data will be updated therefore the Read-only description is appropriate. large and Micro Environmental Analysis ProtonMacro and Micro Environmental Analysis ProtonMacroMacro environment refers to the overwhelming and external factors that the firms cannot have the influence on which can affect its business if not addressed. The economy of Malaysia has been in a healthy growth, however it the year of 2012 has dropped. In addition, the inflation rates of the year 2012 have dropped from a whopping 2.7 to satisfactory 1.3 during a year. These factors have directly affected the inflation and unemployment rates of Malaysia, this is because the inflation rates have locomote and the unemployment rated have fallen as well.MicroMicro environment refers to the internal factors that relates to a business environment which can affect the business operation. These factors are suppliers, shareholders, competitors, customers and distributors. These factors have played a very big rule in the performance of proton, where proton has a big problem with their suppliers, as well as a drop in its commercialize shares, as they have a big competitor in the market which is Perodua, the other factor that has affected proton is the customs, where Proton is facing difficulties in de aling with their customers, in fact proton is losing its customers due to the lack of service and lack of trust.Cross Culture and Global IssuesBeing an automobile industry, this firm has to deal with other cultures on a everyday basis. Cultures are hard to define values, norm, and traditions. Understanding culture is an extremely complex concept. Various theories have been made on culture but the most communicate perhaps is of Greet Hofstedes.Hosfsteds Cultural DimensionsCollectivism and Individualism This refers to the extent to which people of a country a willing to work together. In collectivistic societies people tend to better put the groups needs first eliminating personal goals, whereas countries with invidualistic culture have follow personal or individual attainment over the groups.Power Distance this refers to the extent to which people accept the hierarchal position to be authority in the business environment. Meaning in high power distance societies like Pakistan, Ind ia, Bangladesh, people tend to respect the authority because of their hierarchal of social status other than personal achievement like that in the low power distance societies like France, Italy.Uncertainty Avoidance Refers to the extent to which people accept change in the society. Countries like Indonesia, North Korea, and Japan represent a high uncertainty avoidance whereby they dislike change.Masculinity and Feminism relates to the role of women in contrastive cultures, masculine culture believes Male to be the dominant part of the family and the only one allowed to support the family financially. Cultures with low masculinity dimension show females to be an important part of the workforce.Global issuesWhen it comes to addressing global issues to and automobile industry (Proton) most of the issues are relevant, whether it is of rising cost, taxation, global financial crises, regulations safety and health issues, all of the issues can be tracked back to an automobile industry (p roton). There are many factors that Proton has to constrains before going overseas, for example, the tax fees is different in different countries, as well as the economic condition which will affect the sales, these are some of the issues that have to be addressed from Proton.Business volatility and risk ManagementConsidering the automobile industry (Proton), it took thousands of failed attempts before finally making a prostrate that couldve worked. With every attempt being shot down, the amount of risk involved kept increasing but it was a necessary evil to reach to the point now where cars are made with perfection and counter abilities to have a safe driving. In the case of Proton, there are a number of risks involved which the mangers in charge have to think about. Initially, since the automobile industry is a huge business, the risk of investing enormous capital is the prime risk which decides the point of the operation. Secondly, there is the risk of economic decline or inflat ion to sweep over which would directly affect the businesses in the service industry such as carmakers. Thirdly comes the cost of the fluctuating cost of material steals globally which has been increasing. The point is not to note out the risks involved the point is to manage risks relating to the merger effectively. mark off Success and ChallengesBranding is a concept originated for as far back as the 1200 in Sweden, where they used to burn insignias on a horse to differentiate it from others. For a company that wants its name out in the market, it takes extensive marketing, heavy funds, and a lot of patience because it takes a while. Reaching brand cognizance is only the first step, and then the company needs to reach its target market, once its done then it comes Brand loyalty, whereby customers prefer choosing a brand they have become loyal to. If the brands present a particular negative perception of the company then it may take a long time and efforts to change the percepti on of the masses. For example, when Lexus was first revealed and appreciated by the masses, it was unknown that it belonged to Toyota, because of Toyotas perception of being an economical and affordable automotive vehicle.Business SustainabilityIt is one affair to start a business but it is another to sustain it. By sustaining it doesnt always mean running it profitably, it also include social and environmental obligations, risk and opportunities it has. There are a number of ways in which companies can ensure their business sustainability which would be as followsShareholder engagement.Environmental management system.Reporting and disclosure. If proton implements these sustainable strategies into their operation and monito the quality, sustainability can be expected.Tuckman theories on teamworkIntroductionFor the subject of Business and Commercial Awareness, we got an duty assignment to make a business syllabus for Proton. According to Dr Mahathirs statement our immediate plan wou ld be to change its strategy from being a maker of cheap cars to become a homo standard car manufacture.Stage one FormingThe class was divided into a group of five members, each of the members was giving a department to work on, and these departments are Finance, Operation, Human Resource, and marketing. Unfortunately I was given Finance department, where I have to analyse the current situation of Protons finance performance. However, before the assignment my knowledge of finance was substantially lower than an average final year student of Business Administration, but I have had a mind-set to not pay attention to things that do not interest me for as far back as I can remember.Stage two StormingThen we move into the second stage which is storming, in this stage we started to push against boundaries. We have many conflicts between us in the nature of our working style, where each of the members has a different working style, for example in marketing department, where Amir and Khid er were handed this part, they had many issues in solving the problems which cause frustration to the entire group, as well as I was giving Finance department, which was a big challenge for my authority. As the team work wasnt clearly defined, which cause us to feel overwhelmed by the workload. I believe that it was mission impossible for us to overcome the issues we were facing in this stage we could not even come up with the framework for our strategies, which was a big disappointment. We end up working these issues out with Dr Tan, and finally we could move to the next step.Stage three NormingIn this stage we finally identified our goals, and each of the members is fully aware of the methods and the strategies which should be adopted in order to achieve our goal. As well as trust and apperception was built between us, where the leader of our group Ben was a big motivation for us, he has helped each of us to take responsibility for progress towards achieving the goal. As most of t he discussions were conducted through a facebook page.Stage foursome PerformingIn this stage we solved all the problems and issues by using appropriate controls, and we have achieved and effective and satisfying result. It was amazing that we worked collaboratively to achieve our goal, as there was caring from the members towards each there. For example Brain Scot was very helpful in helping me with my part in Finance department, he recommended me on how to finalize my part. In addition to, the commitment from the group members increased positively towards the group work comparing to the first stage.

One such method is called the PEST analysis because it lists the political, economic, socio cultur al and technological factors that can fix the business environment. Examples of such factors that can influence personal interchange include legislation on fraud and on content in marketing, the average income of potential customers, local etiquette and the technologies potential customers tend to use. Economic, socio cultural and technological factors are particularly important in personal make doing because understanding these factors lets management figure out what products to sell and the best sales methods. For example, a business might choose to use an advertising-driven pull approach rather than the more aggressive push approach in a culture in which approaching strangers is frowned upon. In this example, sales passel would be used more as sources of information to confirm the purchase decisions of customers already pulled in by advertising campaigns.Slide 15 Managerial AffectsE.g. management might choose a push approach to selling in which salespeople are expected to seek out potential customers and blast to sell to them directly rather than relying on advertising to pull them in. While a sales person in the Retail Sales may be in a store attend to customers, anInsuranceSales personis required to be out in the field and sell the insurance to the customers.Sales Representatives play a major role in the success of their individual companies. They are the reason clients, customers or buyers may either be satisfied or not. And they are required to make the best of this opportunity by offering quality service to customers. They are supposed to know the ins and outs of their companys products and services so they can educate clients on how these products and services can be used to reduce costs or increase revenue. More often than not, a sales personis requiredto spend much time travelling and visiting prospective buyers and current clients to remind them how committed the companyis to satisfying their personal and business necessitate.2.2 Sales staff members who are operating in an international environment should play a contrary role compared with sales staff member from local environmentSales staffs in an international environment and local environment both are similar, both sales persons allow for be having a good knowledge about the product or service, competitors, buyer behavior and thy directly communicate to the customers and receive the feedback. All these are done by both the salesperson but the different are the sales person in an international environment will be using the language which is understood by the customers and as He/she is in an international environment they knows the customer expectations on the product or service. So, h e /she will react according to the customers willingness.2.3 there is a possibility to explain the purpose of participating for the trade lovelys divvy up fair is an event dedicated to a particular industry and acts as a platform for bringing together buyers and sellers in different regions, under one roof. The product manufacturers, dealers, resellers, importers and exporters are the main participants in a trade fair. The first consideration for organizing a trade fair is its feasibility. A market analysis needs to be done to get an idea of the response that a trade fair will get, once it starts. The interest shown by the potential visitors and exhibitors decides the success or failure of a trade fair. Just like a well-organized trade fair can benefit the entire industry, similarly fair trading can prove very important for the reputation of companies.Trade fairs are the meeting point of people from different geographical areas. These people can have different motives for attending a trade show. Some might come to the fairs strictly for business purposes people like businessman and student who are doing the higher didactics and others might only be interested in grabbing new friends on the same age. Whatever may be the reason for their visit, visitors are always on the lookout for something interesting and worth remembering. Even though a boring trade fair may still do good business, but it will never be able to r from each one high heights in popularity.By conducting trade fairs the companies get opportunities of getting new customers, new market, new competitors, new distributors, new agents and new partners for the company. Trade fair helps the company in promotion, marketing and publicity all these happens from participating in trade fairs. For example trade fair of Sri Lanka Expo 2012 organized by the Sri Lankan Export Development Board at BMICH. The Exhibition provided an ideal opportunity of Sri Lankan exporters to showcase their quality export product s and services, traditional and non-traditional at a single platform with over 300 stalls to an international audience.Edex Expro 2012 trade fair.Task 03Role and objectives of sales managementSales Managementwas in the beginning meant for sales personnel. It had a narrow point of view of directing the sales personnel of an organization. Sales Management has gained a broader perspective, which includes management and implementation of all marketing activities via advertising, personal selling, sales promotions, distribution, pricing and others.Appropriate recruitment and selection procedures are do by several ways those areJob advertising through newspapers, websites, mass medias and VCT professional magazinesCampus recruitment Hayleys, dialog these types of organizations go to universities and do workshops and get people.Employee agencies- they give the JS to the job agencies and get employeesGetting data base from the organizations e.g. NDB bank and Aviva is doing this. There are i nternal and external methods of recruitment, advantages of internal recruitment are Internal Employees are most familiar to the organization and its culture, The cost of recruiting internal employees is less, Motivates the existing staffs, Strengthens the employee relation, Banks recruiting employees internally. The disadvantages of external recruitment are Wide selection big pool, Infusion of fresh blood people with new ideas and thinks, Element of competition we can competitive and get people from outside, Can get the employer brand advantage, Can spot the best talent from the competitors, Development cost is less. The appropriate selection made is made by interviewing the candidates. There are three methods of interview they are one- one interviews interview one and make comfort for the candidate. Broad interviews, Stress interviews when recruiting military people it is better, Group interview. The two techniques used to co-ordinate and control sales output are, appraisal and performance and budget and positiveness. Appraisal and performance is used to provide an judgement of current performance against which future improvements can be measured and training needs established. We can evaluate the employees and get feedbacks to achieve the target of the organization. Budget and profitability will be used to achieve the sales targets and to increase the sales output. An organizational structure is an internal representation of how persons are positioned in an organization and tho can be used to identify the level of power and responsibility given to each person within the organization. It is better to have the matrix structure, where each department has each manager. If there is a problem in one department, that department manager can make the decisions.By motivating and training the employees we can enhance sales performance at the organization. By motivating the employees they work for the organization, by that we can achieve the goals of the organizat ion. Training for the sales staffs are necessary, they should be proficient as on the job training. Where they will be supervised by the top management, by workshops and by conducting lectures, where they will explain how to communicate with the customers and the knowledge of product and about the company. All theses will make a sales staff to start the sales. The Roles and objective of a Sales management is to identify a sales staff and motivate him/her then train him/her will the necessary skills and connect him/her to the organization structure and used the appropriate technique to enhance the sales output.

Was Darwin a Eugenicist?Aiden TamasauskasCharles Darwin is often cited as one the most pivotal contributors to the humilitary personnel understanding of evolution. His magnum opus On The Origins of Species, documents his innovative observations and theories from his voyage on the HMS Beagle. Darwins work on innate choice lead to the view of evolution as being a process of deviations, the degree to which stems from an passe-partout organism. The varieties of organisms that have survived over time have done so because of their specific aptness for their environment, and nonhing else. Essentially Darwin helped introduce the theory of survival of the fittest-in some other words, chance, as a central feature of biological development. At the time Darwin released his theories, the notion of chance was hugely controversial, and lead to questions interrelateing the very sanctity and precariousness of animal life. It was not until the publishing of The dusk of Man that Darwin dealt ex plicitly with the subject of the evolution of tender-hearteds. Darwin decisively concludes that human ar descendants of little complex life forms and that the particular ship canal in which they have adapted to their environment is the paramount feature of their survival. Some scientists took from Darwin the theory of natural selection, and sought to synthesize it or manipulate it. The field of eugenics essentially claims that by genetic intervention the human race can be improved. There argon some who would claim that by making humans less essential-or important-biological figures, and by putting their destiny in the hands of chance, Darwin somehow advocates for a type of eugenics or a genetic intervention or modification in the process of human life. This paper will demonstrate through an analysis of The twilight of Man, that Darwin was emphatically not a eugenicist. This will be argued by s perpetuallyalize the claim that Darwin was a eugenicist with an in-depth examinatio n of Darwins understanding of human sociality desire, sympathy, and natural and sexual selection. To begin, Darwins treatment of how society and societal values contributed to anthropogenesis shows an initial incongruence between Darwin and eugenicists. Darwin claims, man is a social being. We see this in his dislike of solitude, and in his wish for society beyond that of his own family. (Darwin, farm animal of Man, Carroll,529). Al transformy, we can see that Darwin wants to highlight the trend in which society is a product of both an aversion to isolation and a calculated decision to stay amongst others. But why? There are sets of values (whether they be cleanistics or behavioural norms) that at some point the ancestors of humans developed and began performing. Darwin clarifies, saying, although man, as he now exists, has few particular(prenominal) instincts, this is no reason why he should not have retained from an primitively remote period some degree of distinctive love and sympathy for his fellows. (Darwin, Descent of Man, Carroll,530). This advert explains that man has acquired a sense of obedience and love for his community, but by chance. This uncertainty of how these senses of love and obedience came about should be read as an embracing or acknowledging of the unknown processes of deep time and natural selection, not a call to learn how to synthesis and produce genetic changes to these sensations. In other words, if one tribe included a great number of courageous, sympathetic and faithful members, who were always ready to warn each other of danger, to uphold and defend each other, this tribe would without a doubt succeed best and conquer the other (Darwin, Descent of Man, Carroll,535). Here Darwin shows that sentiments that were beneficial to tribes were often used to the prefer of the most successful tribes, which shows that the group mentality of society has come about by virtue of both instinctual sentiments and the adopting of qualitie s that increase the success and decrease the difficulty of survival. in the persistent run survival is a product of battling and adapting to ones environment. What sets human community apart from that of lower animals is the sensation of regret they purport when having not acted in accordance with certain moral conduct. This is an appeal to humanitys concern with mental contents. If a human enacts, Darwin says, any desire or instinct, leading to an action opposed to the good of others, he will feel no keen regret at having followed it but he will be conscious that if his conduct were known to his fellows, it would meet with their disapprobation and few are so destitute of sympathy as not to feel discomfort when this is realized. (Darwin, Descent of Man, Carroll,532). This is essentially what structures human morality. This conclusion agrees well with the belief that the so-called moral sense is aboriginally derived from the social instincts, for both relate at first exclusively t o the community. (Darwin, Descent of Man, Carroll,532) This is to say that humans have a certain predisposition to performing in accordance with past impressions (this includes acting nobly and acting out of pure desire) whereas other animals act instinctually without a moment of remembrance, regret, sympathy or empathy. Darwin alike thinks that primeval man, at a very remote period, was influenced by the praise and blame of his fellows, meaning that he highly values mental charm and virtues (Darwin, Descent of Man, Carroll,537, 559). Whether acting as a society in response to their environment (natural selection) or choosing a mate (sexual selection) Darwin believes that humans have a special concern for each other that is not possible to foster through eugenics. What is of the utmost importance to this discussion is the way in which Darwin believes that this predisposition accumulated over the long span of anthropogenesis-it has no intrinsic or necessary meaning other than its ha phazardness.Darwins most notorious development, natural selection, is a theory that arguably serves as the antithesis of eugenics. Darwin explicitly explains that all the social qualities, were no doubt acquired by the progenitors of man in a similar manner, namely, through natural selection, aided by inherited habit. (Darwin, Descent of Man, Carroll,535). Besides instinctual habit-based decision making, social attributes in humans are a product of natural selection that is, sociality has been selected as the most beneficial arrangement for human lifes survival against its environment. It is an intellectual fallacy to equate the work done on the theory of natural selection to a secularized teleology, or blueprint of nature. Rather, natural selection is the unpredictable work of nature, not an objective plan. It is a law that is as random as it is inevitable. As opposed to being the law of a god, natural selection follows from the struggle for existence and this from a rapid rate of increase had he not been subjected to natural selection, assuredly he would never had attained to the enjoin of manhood. (Darwin, Descent of Man, Carroll,540). In the same way that humans construct their society and its value judgments, natural selection is a process created by the struggle for life. This substance that natural selection is a process that requires life to exist. A eugenicist would seek to intervene in the making of life in order to produce a life that is better. And thus, eugenics strives to prevent the very life that makes conceivable natural selection-the possibility for evolution-from ever coming about. It is obvious that Charles Darwin, the father of natural selection, would never endorse a means to intervene in the highly conditional, random work of natural selection. In conclusion, at his time, many were outraged by Darwins theories. But what the most extreme misinterpretations of Darwin conclude about his theory of evolution is that he would ever endorse a preemptive intervention in the unraveling of life. That is, Darwin cannot be read as ever endorsing a eugenics program, as natural selection is literally the process of pre-established life fighting and adapting with its unpredictable environment. Darwins conclusion is that man descended from a lower form of life, and is label by a difference in degree not kind from other species. This is not to insist upon the interference in the progression or evolving of humans as a species, but rather privledges the role that chance places in the struggle for life. By paying close attention to some of the tenants of his thought, this paper has shown that Darwins Descent of Man is a work that in no way advocates eugenics. In fact, his work resists any call to planned or calculated interference in human life.BibliographyDarwin, Charles. Descent of Man. Ed. Joseph Carroll. On the Origin of Species. Essay --
Honor is very prominent through egress Shakespeare, merely not everyone is trustworthy and purityable. at that place are some that keep their word and there are others that cant be trusted at all. Prince Harry is a prime fount of a honorable young prince because he has to make difficult personal choices that an aspiring king needs to make in order to rule a nation. Then there is Falstaff and King heat content IV who werent as honorable. They are all on different notions of honor with Prince Harry being at the top of the three. Falstaff has no chance at being the most honorable because he is lazy, selfish, dishonest, and manipulative. These characteristics are not in any way shape or form honorable and he wouldnt be trustworthy enough to be noble and honorable. Falstaff thinks that he is honorable but he is nowhere honest honorable. Then King Henry IV lacks the moral legitimacy that he needs to truly be a leader and honorable. He is very equal to(p) of arranging things and h e is very energetic so that makes him able to obtain the throne and be qualified as honorable.Prince Harry is an honorable man but he has to win back his honor from King Henry IV. Harry shows his honor through his noble behavior by sneakly giving up his aver honor to fool the people of the town to achieve their trust and Campbell 2friendship, so when he does take the throne the people will like him better. He is a very complicated character in this play and he wastes a lot of his time with Falstaff earning the pleasure of both his father and England. He comes proscribed of no where and surprises England by declaring that his dissolute lifestyle is all an act, and that he is just trying to lower the people around him expectations so that he can crane his true heroic knowledge and t... ...the whole play. The characters all have their own different values and goals and this is why Falstaff can be lazy and dishonest, but he can still be considered honorable in his own way. This als o goes along with King Henry IV and also his son Prince Harry. King Henry arranges a murder for Richard II just so that he can seize the throne for himself, yet he still is considered honorable and people realise him as a great leader and look up to him. Then there is Prince Harry, he has to earn back his honor from the King and through out the whole play he shows how he is transforming himself form a low-life bum, that he pretends to be to become a honorable and noble leader. Each character shows their honor in different ways in the paly. Shakespeare does this purposely to get the reader to further engage with the characters in his story and understand them all a elflike better.

Symbol of the Bull in Greenleaf Essays -- Flannery OConnor Greenleaf
Symbol of the Bull in Greenleaf   Animals are often used by authors of novels and short stories as literary symbols. In Greenleaf, a short story by Flannery OConnor, a bull is used to represent Jesus rescuer. OConnor does this according to how the bull looks, how it is rejected, and how it seems to offer grace to Mrs. May.   The first-class honours degree way OConnor uses the bull to represent Christ is by appearance. A few times in the story the bull seems to be lit up same the sun or by the moon. This is comparable to Jesus because many people imagine Christ as a mortal or a tactile sensation with rays of light flowing from Him. Also, to believers, Christ is their light as He leads them in life. Another time the bull looks like Christ occurs when it has the wreath stuck on its horns. OConnor writ...
